Siri Guru Angad Dev Ji

Guru Angad Dev ji was "The Fount of Sewa and Bhagti"
On 7 th september 1539 GURU NANAK DEV JI dparted his Sikhs to."Being of the Beloved Lord" and his light ws transferred to Guru Angad Dev ji who was installed as his successor and who carried the responsibility on nurturing what was planted by Guru Nanak Dev ji.
Guru Angad Dev ji was born on the 1st of Vaisakh in the Samat 1561 or 1504 A.D in mattay Dee Sairan in ferozepur. The proud father was Sri Pheru Mal Ji and the mother was Mata Sabrai ji.He was married o Sri Kheevee ji in Samat 1576 or 1591 A.D.He had two sons namely Dassu and Dattu and two daughters Amro and Anokhi.
Guru Angad Devji invented and introduced the Gurumukhi Script(Punjabi language)and made it known to all Gurusikhs.The scriptures in the holy Guru Granth Sahib ji are all in Gurumukhi.The two qualities which he taught to sikhs was "Self-less service" and showed them the way to "Devotional prayers".He collected the facts about Guru Nanak Ji's life from Bhai Bala and wrote the first biography of Guru Nanak Ji. He also wrote 63 Saloks (stanzas), which are included in the Guru Granth Sahib. He popularised and expanded the institution of Guru ka Langar (the Guru's communal kitchen) that had been started by Guru Nanak Ji.
